Tower's Extended Day program has a new name this year, one that we hope embodies the fun spirit of our program. Our program also has a new home base, located on the upper level, across from the Business Office. Be sure to stop by to say hello!

Welcome to Club T.E.D.

Club T.E.D. | Mornings

Our morning program offers students, whose family schedule benefits from an earlier start to the day, a relaxing morning of reading and quiet conversation. TED | Mornings is available in the first grade classrooms for students in all grades, Monday-Friday from 7:00 am-7:40 am.

Club T.E.D. | Afternoons 

Our afternoon program offers a variety of enrichment activities, recess, unstructured time to socialize with friends, and a quiet space for completing homework assignments. TED | Afternoons is available for students in all grades, and is offered Monday-Thursday from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm and Friday from 3:00 pm-4:30 pm.

Music lessons are offered through Club T.E.D. | Afternoons, and arrangements can be made for individuals or small groups of students.

Tutoring is also offered through Club T.E.D. | Afternoons, and is available in specific academic areas and as homework support, and can be tailored to suit individual students or small groups of students.

All clubs run for 10 weeks beginning the week of 12/5/16 unless otherwise noted. Students can register for any of the mini clubs (Make It!, Finger Knitting & Crafts, Holiday Creations, FitKids) offered between 11/29/16 and 12/16/16 without registering for the full winter trimester.


Mrs. Field’s Cookies Club | Grades Pre-K-5
Mondays 3:15-4:30 | 12/5/16 - 3/9/17
"Sometimes me think, 'What is a friend?' and then me say, 'Friend is someone to share the last cookie with.'" Do you crave cookies like Cookie Monster? If so, come measure, mix and make a different cookie recipe every week with Mrs. Field and friends. Course is limited to 10 students, and is offered by Mrs. Field.

Make It! Club | Grades Pre-K-5
Mondays 3:15-4:30 | 11/29/16 - 12/16/16All kids love playing with toys. This club allows students to build customized creations from planes to games using recyclables, household items and craft supplies. Course offered by Katherine A Byrne.

"I Like to Move It” Group 1 | Grades 3-5
Tuesdays 3:10-3:55 | 12/5/16 - 3/9/17
This is a fun music and movement class. Each 45-minute session will combine popular songs with yoga, conditioning and dance. Many routines are carefully choreographed by instructor, Sue Ballou, who has fourteen years teaching on the North Shore. Course offered by Sue Ballou.

"I Like to Move It” Group 2 | Grades Pre-K-2
Tuesdays 4:00-4:35 | 12/5/16 - 3/9/17
This is a fun music and movement class. Each 35-minute session will combine popular songs with yoga, conditioning and dance (including popular line dances). The program includes creative routines choreographed by instructor, Sue Ballou, who has fourteen years experience teaching on the North Shore. Course offered by Sue Ballou.

Chess Club | Grades K-5
Tuesdays 3:45-4:40 | 12/5/16 - 3/9/17
Numerous studies have confirmed that playing chess can help children improve concentration, creativity, critical thinking, memory, math skills and reading. Students of all skill levels will learn the rules and strategies of chess and play games with other students during this enrichment class. Course offered by Chess Master Mikhail Perelshteyn.

Fused Glass Club | Grades 3-5
Tuesdays 3:15-4:30 | 1/10/17 - 3/9/17
Fused Glass is a process pioneered thousands of years ago in Ancient Egypt. In this club, students will similarly work with many pieces of glass, finish them in a kiln and finally fuse them into a finished piece. They will learn to cut, clean and stack glass to make a variety of projects including jewelry, dishes and more. Course offered by Brooke Denault of Denault Studios.

Strength & Agility Club | Grades 3-5
Wednesdays 3:15-4:30 | 11/29/17 - 12/16/16
This strength and conditioning program develops character, confidence, self esteem, and a lifelong love for fitness. FitKids’ workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scalable for any student. Workouts will increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. Each class will consist of a warm-up, skill and game. Course offered by Emily Record.

Pizza Club | Grades 1-5
Wednesdays 3:15 - 4:30 | 12/5/16 - 3/9/17
People around the world top their pizzas with all sorts of foods including green peas, fried eggs, tuna, and bananas, and some even enjoy hot dog crust. Come make and enjoy a different pizza every week with Mr. Field. After all, the average American will eat 6,000 slices of pizza in his lifetime Course is limited to 10 students and is offered by Mr. Field.

Finger Knitting & Crafts Club | Grades Pre-K-5
Wednesdays 3:15-4:30 | dates to be announced
A single strand of yarn will allow students to finger knit pieces that they can transform into tons of different projects! In this club students will learn everything they need to get started with finger knitting, plus some additional techniques and crafts to take projects to the next level. Course offered by Katherine A. Byrne.

Jr. Energy Wizards Club | Grades K-2
Wednesdays 3:15-4:30 | 1/3/17 - 3/9/17
Come unlock the mysteries of electricity with the Energy Wizards. Students will learn how to safely harness the power of electricity and make some amazing creations. The fun, hands-on projects range from playing with light-up Squishy Circuits to creating pop-up and light-up greeting cards. If you like to take stuff apart, aspire to invent or are just courses about modern electronics, join us and become an Energy Wizard. Course offered by Ascendly.

Yoga Club | Grades 3-5
Thursdays 3:15-4:00 | 12/5/16 - 3/9/17
Yoga is a 5,000 year old art of joining the body and the mind that has myriad benefits for children. This non-competitive class will develop students' strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, self-esteem, body awareness, stress management and mindfulness. Students will practice a variety of poses and develop skills that will last a lifetime. Namaste!

Minecraft Club | Grades 3-5
Thursdays 3:15-4:15 | 12/5/17 - 3/9/17
Minecraft teaches architectural design, problem solving, teamwork and social skills by letting students have fun and play in a virtual world. Often described as a “sandbox game”, Minecraft lets users roam, change and create at will. Students do not need to have their own Minecraft accounts, and they will not be able to access personal accounts during the club. Course is limited to 12 students and is offered by Mrs. Klocker.

Holiday Creations Club | Grades Pre-K-5
Thursdays 3:15-4:15 | 11/29/16-12/16/16
Celebrate the season and make festive crafts. This club will create a variety of arts and crafts just in time for the holidays. Course offered by Mrs Marie Breen, a retired art teacher.

On Fridays, Club T.E.D. | Afternoons is open until 4:30. There are no Club T.E.D. optional activities currently scheduled for Fridays.

Your total cost for the first trimester of Club T.E.D. is the sum of your selections checked above. Charges will be billed to your SMART Tuition account at the beginning of the trimester.

About late fees for Club T.E.D. | Afternoons
We offer a 10-minute grace period beyond the designated pick up time. Beyond the grace period, the late fee is structured as follows: $15.00 for the first 20 minutes late after 4:40, plus $5.00 for each additional 20 minutes. After 6:10, $20 for each additional 15 minutes.

We offer drop in rates for Club T.E.D.
The drop-in rate for Club T.E.D. | Mornings is $10 per day; for Club T.E.D. Afternoons, the drop-in rate is $15. per hour with a $10 minimum charge. Please contact the front office at 781-631-5800 with as much advance notice as possible.

We offer music lessons and tutoring, which can be arranged separately. Please contact Dean Sidell at for information.

Please complete a separate registration form for each child. Before the beginning of each trimester a new registration form will be made available and will be announced in The Spotlight newsletter.

Theme-based, monthly parent and toddler workshops that focus on music, art, movement and FUN! These workshops fill quickly. Contact our Admission office to pre-register.
