The Williamson Innovative Science Education (WISE) Fund

The Williamson family wants to give many more classes of Tower School students the opportunities of inquiry, investigation, and imagination that Frances Williamson has fostered in generations of her students.

In her honor, the Williamson family has established the Williamson Innovative Science Education (WISE) Fund. The WISE Fund will sponsor the type of projects, units, and professional development that made Mrs. Williamson’s science lab so unique. With the growing importance of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in our nation’s schools, the WISE Fund will provide Tower with the resources to become a leader in innovative, hands-on STEM education, producing students with a lasting curiosity, passion, and aptitude for science.

Each academic year, grants will be awarded to faculty members to advance and expand the study of science in their classrooms. Grants should fund hands on units or projects, including but not limited to the purchase of specialized equipment or supplies, or science-education focused professional development with the likelihood to bring innovative, hands-on lessons to Tower School classrooms.
