"Together Under the Stars" in Iceland Raffle

The 2022 "Together Under the Stars" Raffle is sold out! Thank you to Mindy Gyllenborg for running the raffle, all of our ticket sellers for their hard work and organization and of course to all our ticket purchasers for supporting the raffle. We can't wait to hear who'll be heading to Iceland to see the Northern Lights! As a reminder:

  • The raffle drawing takes place at the Tower Benefit on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

  • The winner does not need to be present to win and will be notified by end of day on Monday, May 9, 2022.

  • The total value of prize is $6,100 which includes a trip value of $4,600 plus approximately $1,500 in taxes to be covered by Tower School.

  • Trip must begin by December 31, 2023.

Proceeds from the benefit raffle support the Cultural Enrichment Program for students and the Professional Development Program for faculty. Thank you for your interest and good luck!

ITINERARY

Below is a sample itinerary of the vacation being offered. Stone and Compass will work with the raffle winner to make this trip an experience of a lifetime! 

DAY ONE | ARRIVE IN REYKJAVIK

Arrive in Reykjavík and head straight to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing morning—a real treat for your mind, body, and soul! Enjoy a delicious lunch and then head back to the city for downtime. Then take a foodie tour of Reykjavik in the evening, and head to the docks to board a boat to view the Northern Lights.

DAY TWO | GOLDEN CIRCLE

Set out for the Golden Circle and visit the Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir, and the Gullfoss waterfall! Thingvellir National Park is one the most historical sites you will find in Iceland, located in the middle of a lava field, where the two tectonic plates meet and you can actually snorkel or dive in between them. The exhilarating Geysir Geothermal Area a steaming and bubbling center, is home to an active geothermal vent whose fountain erupts every 4-10 minutes. Lastly in the Golden Circle, you will find the famous Gullfoss waterfall. Dropping two stories down into a glacier-carved gully,the meltwater changes color often so the waterfall never completely looks the same. Come back to your hotel in Reykjavík and get ready for a traditional Icelandic meal.

DAY THREE | TRAVEL TO VIK

Enjoy a beautiful coastal drive ato Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls before heading into the town of Vik. Once you arrive, explore the magnificent Reynisdrangar- basalt sea stacks situated under the mountain Reynisfjall. Head over to the Black Salt beach and feel the hustle and bustle of city life melt away and spend the night at your hotel in Vik.

DAY FOUR | REYKJAVIK

Drive back to Reykjavík today after breakfast. Spend the day exploring the world’s northernmost capital. Soak in the modern design on a stroll through the shopping streets of Laugavegur, Bankastræti, Austurstræti, Lækjargata, and Skólavörðustígur.

DAY FIVE | FLY HOME (OR DON'T!)

In the morning we begin our journey home but the memories will last a lifetime.

The trip is all-inclusive. Stone & Compass has no extra fees associated with any trip. All flights (from/to any major east coast airport), lodging, food, site seeing, guides, and insurances are covered in our cost. The only extra cost to our travelers is money for gifts and maybe an extra Icelandic candy bar or two!

Trip will be booked directly between winning ticket holder and Rob Goodwin of Stone and Compass.
