“Practical Strategies for Helping Students Develop Independent Skills in Executive Function”

November 14, 6:30–8:00pm

Executive function skills are the skills we use to pay attention, organize and plan tasks and materials, start tasks and stay focused on them, manage emotions and be flexible, and keep track of what we are doing.

In this practical strategies seminar, parents and educators will:

  • develop a solid understanding of how these skills impact a student’s academic and personal performance
  • implement strategies to help students initiate tasks, follow routines, transition between tasks, think in an organized way, and manage homework
  • gain strategies to help students internally feel the sweep of time, focus, and complete tasks in the allotted time
  • show students how to plan and complete homework, tasks, and chores with less supervision and fewer external prompts
  • This event is free and open to all parents in the greater community.
