Dear Tower Families,

 

Happy New Year and welcome back. I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. Tower is already back in full swing and the hallways are abuzz with activity. 

 

As I briefly touched on before break, the Board of Trustees has engaged Carney Sandoe to partner with us once again on our Head of School search. Our consultant Bob Fricker is busy sharing our story in the marketplace and speaking with potential candidates. We are pleased to hear there are a number of strong candidates that he is excited to present to the school in the coming months.

 

We are committed to creating opportunities for important collaboration and invite all parents to participate in the process. Although fast approaching, the first opportunity is coming up next week as scheduling allows Bob Fricker and his associate, Lisa Parsons, to visit Tower. They will be meeting with parents, teachers, administrators and Board members to involve and educate the community as well as further understand the current needs of the school and any changes since they ran the process two years ago.

 

Parents are invited to meet with Bob and Lisa on Monday, January 14, 6–7pm, and Tuesday, January 15, 8–9am, in Tower's Phillips Library.

 

As before, our committee consists of nine members, the majority of which were on the search committee that selected Tim. I'm pleased to announce that Jeff Carter will co-chair the committee with me. Below is a full committee list:

Search committee receives and reviews candidate profiles

Search committee researches and selects semifinalists

Late-March

Confidential semifinalist interviews by Search Committee  

Mid-April

Finalist visits to Tower; includes meetings with parents and other constituents

Mid-Late April

Search committee selects a candidate to recommend to the Board

Board votes on Head of School appointment
