Hello from Tower

Being Head of School for the Day is a pretty great situation when you're in first grade. He wore a tie, attended meetings, negotiated and made decisions - most notably, declared a No Homework Day for his classmates, scheduled a Dress Down Day (negotiations are still underway to define "dress down"), had lunch, and ran an All-School Assembly.

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT HIGHLIGHT

Keith Witty

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE  |  KEITH WITTY
NYC Musician Keith Witty spent a full week at Tower working with students across every grade to compose original music as a score to the charming children's book, published by Candlewick Press, Du Iz Tak? On Friday, Mr. Witty and the students performed during an afternoon assembly for parents and students. A video of the performance is available on Facebook.

BEHIND THE SCENES: THE PROCESS AND THE PERFORMANCE, by JO PRICE

Music teacher, Jo Price, documented the exciting work that went into the musical score. To view her presentation, click below.

SURVEY

survey reminder, closes on May 23

THE TOWER EXPERIENCE  |  OUR FAMILIES' VIEWPOINT
Your perspectives and viewpoints are valuable in helping us to identify opportunities for improvement and the aspects of the Tower experience our families value most. Our new survey contains 21 questions and is designed to be completed within 10-20 minutes. We ask each family to complete the survey one time.

The last day to complete the survey is Wednesday, May 23.

If you are among those who have already completed your survey, thank you.

VIDEOGRAPHER AT TOWER 5/24-5/25

FILMING A NEW TOWER SCHOOL VIDEO
We're excited to have a videographer on campus on May 24-25, to create an admission video highlighting our curriculum, school and community. Students are great at welcoming our photographers in the classroom and I have no doubt that they will feel comfortable next week with our small camera crew.

A few thoughts about clothing on film days: Please ask your children to select clothing that adheres to the dress code, that is a color other than gray or tan, and that is perhaps a little nicer than what they might wear on an ordinary day. While TOWER tees are in dress code, we would prefer that students choose something a little less casual on film days.  Thank you.

Our video will be edited and ready by mid summer. We look forward to sharing it, (among other places) on our website, at The Warwick Theater in Marblehead, and on social media.

Gracias to Sofia Jarrin-Thomas who teamed up with librarian Melissa Upton and Spanish teacher Anna Walcutt to move the Spanish book collection into the school library.

Thank you to moms everywhere. We hope you had a wonderful Mothers' Day. These butterflies were made by a first grader last week, and are just so cheerful, I had to share.
