MARY POPPINS  |  UPPER SCHOOL DRAMA PRODUCTION

Monday, March 5, 2018 at 6:00 pm (Tickets are not needed)

Join us for the final showing of Mary Poppins, today at 6:00pm.

 

HERE'S A QUICK GUIDE TO ATTENDING THE MUST-SEE EVENT ON CAMPUS

  • The show is appropriate for all ages.
  • Lower School students must be accompanied by an adult. Adults should sit within reasonable proximity to their children.
  • Upper School students can attend without an adult and may bring friends.
  • Upper School students and their guests need to check their phones before entering the PAC. They can reclaim their phones at the end of the show.
  • Adults and students may purchase refreshments from the snack bar. New this year: Snacks may be brought into the PAC for showtime; however, we ask everyone to make sure their space is clean and tidy before leaving.
  • Fans may support the actors, stage crew and booth crew by sending chocolate, flowers and notes of good cheer, available for purchase in the lower lobby.
 

"MINDFULNESS FOR THE REST OF US: BEING PRESENT BY CHOICE"
TOWER TALKS SPEAKER SERIES WITH MINDFULNESS CONSULTANT PETER FRANKLIN

Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 7-9pm

Mindfulness consultant, Peter Franklin, provides training to Tower's faculty to further our understanding of what mindfulness is, how to lead our students in their mindfulness practice, and the benefits of practicing mindfulness. Scientific research confirms that students who practice mindfulness become more attentive, productive and emotionally sound.

 

More information is to come about the topics that Peter Franklin will cover during our community-wide speaker series event. Please look to future Spotlight posts and Facebook for details, including how to sign up for this free event.

TOWER SCHOOL RECOGNIZED AS A 2018 HONOREE AT MY BROTHER'S TABLE'S UPCOMING FOUNDER'S CELEBRATION
Wednesday, March 7

Tower School will be recognized as a 2018 Honoree at MBT's annual Founders' Celebration. The reception honors the Table's founders and their legacy, as well as some of the special supporters who have helped the Table to thrive over the years. It is an honor to be recognized by an institution that offers unconditional service to the greater North Shore community. For those interested in attending, tickets are available to purchase on My Brother's Table's website.

PENGUINS' AND FIRST GRADE TEACHERS' ROAD TRIP

First Grade teachers, Sarah Clark and Susie Schneider have been invited to present at the Joint Conference of New Hampshire Teachers of Mathematics and the Science Teachers' Association. They will present their first grade math and science unit involving several species of penguins, including important skills of data collection and analysis.

Read about Lucas McMahon '04, who is now on Broadway working alongside director J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, among other credits) as a producer of the Tony Award winning comedy "The Play That Goes Wrong." Lucas was so passionate about performing arts as a student that he is remembered fondly for singing show tunes with teachers during recess.

HEALTH NEWS FROM MR. WELLS
Health and Science teacher, Russ Wells often finds sharable resources for families in Greater Good Magazine. Today, he shares a list of 10 Films that Greater Good finds notable for themes such as:  forgiveness, empathy, growth mindset, nonviolent heroism.

 

CAMPUS RENTALS
Tower's campus includes indoor and outdoor facilities available for rent by families, private parties, artists and athletic teams. To inquire about rentals, including hosting a birthday party in the gym, contact Dean Sidell.

TOWER TEES BY LOCAL BATIK ARTIST AT LIZZY LOO DESIGNS 
Local batik artist, Lizzy Loo Designs makes each shirt by hand, resulting in a one of a kind shirt with a warm, summer vibe. This is a special order item. Orders are due on March 30, and shirts will be delivered to school in early May. Shirts are $20 each.
