Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably inclined individuals, families, and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock, and, in some cases, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.

Gifts of appreciated securities generally offer tax savings in two ways: the donor avoids paying any capital gains tax on the increased value of the stock, and the donor receives an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift.

Planned Gifts

The Runnette Society for Planned Giving is named for Helen Runnette, Tower Headmistress from 1917-1956. Established in the spring of 2004, this society recognizes the foresight and generosity of alumni, families, and friends who have included Tower School in their estate plans. Meet the Team

JESSIE ACHTERHOF, DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Jessie has been with Tower since 2007 and was appointed Director of Development in 2012. She led the Stepping Forward Campaign and Centennial Celebration for Tower in 2012 as well as various annual giving campaigns, special events and major gift efforts. Prior to coming to Tower, Jessie worked as the Assistant Director of Development at Collegiate School in New York. She is the parent of two graduates. Contact Jessie Achterhof.

GARETH RANDALL, DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
Gareth joined the the Tower community as a part-time receptionist in 2021 and the Development Office in 2022. She brings a strong knowledge of the community, prior development experience at the Peabody Essex Museum, and volunteer alumni relations work with Carroll School to her role as Development Associate.
