TOWER TOTS: PARENT & TODDLER WORKSHOPS

Our small group, parent and toddler workshops are teacher-led, interactive, and fun! They tend to fill-up quickly, so pre-registration is necessary.  Registration for our workshops will open three weeks prior to the events.

APRIL 6 | 9:00-10:00 am | “A Treasury of Textures” with Sarah Clark and Susie Schneider 
Ever since your child learned to reach and grasp, he/she has been acquiring skills and information by touching and manipulating interesting objects. Come along to Tower to inspire your child to explore, describe and select interesting textures. We’ll collect, dump, pour, strain, stretch and stick a wide selection of fun materials to produce a stunning piece of art!

"DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME.  TRY IT AT TOWER."
Come to Tower prepared to push up your sleeves and have some fun.  Create a banana piano by conducting electricity through your body and a bunch of bananas, and into a computer.  Launch your own custom-built rocket across the field, reach into the traveling tide-pool touch tanks, create an animal mask in one of our art studios, or mix up something messy in the science labs.

Join us for an art and music workshop, with art teacher, Stephanie Fitzgerald, and music teacher, Jo Price. We will sing and dance to familiar songs, while learning a bit more about one another. Come dressed for a messy, good time, because when the singing is done, we’ll paint murals and large designs! Our morning will finish with a story, Sky Color, by Peter H. Reynolds.

DECEMBER 1  |  9:00-10:00 am  |  “Dinosaurs” with Julie Walsh and Sara Field 
Kindergarten and second grade teachers, Julie Walsh and Sara Field, team up for an exciting hour of Dinosaurs! Spend a "Mesozoic Morning" with dinosaur stations! We will learn a dinosaur song and dance, dig for dinosaurs in Jurassic sand, compare shoe sizes with a T-Rex, make a dinosaur craft, create dinosaur tracks, and more!

FEBRUARY 2  |  9:00-10:00 am  |  “Life on the Farm” with Chris Field 
Join Physical Education teacher, Chris Field, for his happy, action-packed hour of movement! Old McDonald lost his animals! The horses, pigs, sheep and cows left the farm and went straight to the playground! What games do you think they'll play? After building a large farm out of building blocks, we'll use our imagination—moving and sounding like each of the animals on the farm.

Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with your friends at Tower! We will read familiar stories, decorate birthday wishes, and enjoy a special snack in honor of the man who created Sam I Am, The Lorax, The Sneetches, and more. We hope to see you here!
