The Dr. Robert C. Seamans Jr. ’31 Distinguished Alumni Award

In 2006, the Tower School Alumni Leadership Committee established the Dr. Robert C. Seamans, Jr. ’31 Distinguished Alumni Award. The concept of this award, developed out of the interest of the Alumni Leadership Committee (ALC), is to recognize and promote alumni in the Tower community whose lives and contributions to society exemplify the commitment to high moral standards and a lifelong love of learning that Tower School seeks to impart on its students. This award will be given to an alumnus every other year to recognize distinguished service to Tower School and/or outstanding professional, civic, or personal accomplishments.

PAST RECIPIENTS

2009 – Robert N. Shapiro ’64
Robert N. Shapiro ’64 was presented with this award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to Tower School, and for his devotion to education and lifelong learning through his work at numerous educational institutions and museums.

2008 – Amanda Carey Hogan ’67
Amanda Carey Hogan ’67 was presented with this award in recognition of her leadership of and vision for Windrush Farm and for her compassionate care for the children and adults with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities whose lives she has changed through therapeutic horseback riding at Windrush Farm Therapeutic Equitation, Inc. in Boxford, MA.

2007 – Dr. Robert C. Seamans Jr. ’31
Dr. Robert C. Seamans, Jr. ’31 was presented with this award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education, the fields of engineering, aeronautics, and astronautics, and his exceptional meritorious service to the United States.
