Capital Gifts and Endowment Funds
Tower School's endowment is essential for the long-term stability and success of Tower School. Building the endowment is therefore a high priority for the School. Endowment gifts are gratefully received and then professionally invested to provide annual income for the School’s operating budget, financial aid, and faculty support in perpetuity. This income may also be reinvested to provide additional savings for the school. Tower is committed to long-term endowment fundraising and recently celebrated the success of the Stepping Forward campaign. These essential endowment funds ensure the school's long-term financial health.
Stepping Forward: Investing in Tower's Future
On June 30, 2014, Tower celebrated the closing of the successful endowment campaign Stepping Forward: Investing in Tower's Future. Launched in 2012, this endowment-only campaign raised over $3,700,000 from over 240 donors in support of the school’s most prized assets: people and program. Investing in the school’s endowment provides our faculty, students and program with the additional resources necessary to sustain and enhance the quality of our educational program well into the future.
A significantly enhanced endowment helps secure Tower's position and improve our ability to continually invest in program and people by allowing Tower to:
- Support competitive faculty compensation and benefits
- Enhance and expand professional development opportunities and program
- Strengthen tuition assistance program
- Provide financial stability, strength, and flexibility to adapt to market fluctuations
Campaign donors could designate their gift among the following endowed areas or funds:
- Unrestricted Endowment
- Faculty Support and Professional Development
- Tuition Assistance
- The Peter S. Philip Faculty Chair in History
- The Williamson Innovative Science Education (WISE) Fund
Gifts to the Tower School endowment may be of any size and may be designated for a particular purpose or to an existing named endowment fund. Please contact Jessie Achterhof, Director of Development, at 781.631.5800 ex. 258 if you are interested in establishing a named endowment fund.
