Ways to Give
Cash and Credit Card Gifts
Gifts may be made by check or credit card (Tower accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover). Mail checks made payable to Tower School to the Development Office at 75 West Shore Drive, Marblehead, MA 01945. Visit our secure online giving page or call the Development Office at 781.631.5800 to make your gift by credit card. Many donors choose to make their gifts before December 31 in order to receive a tax deduction within that calendar year.
Gifts of appreciated securities generally offer tax savings in two ways: The donor avoids paying any capital gains tax on the increased value of the stock, and the donor receives an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift. For more details on the benefits of stock gifts or for instructions on making a stock gift through Tower's account at Eastern Bank, please contact the Development Office.
Many companies today offer a matching gift program as part of their benefits package. This program matches an employee's charitable donation to educational institutions, often doubling or tripling the employee's original gift. To find out if your company offers this program, contact the Development Office or your employer's human resources department.
Estate planning is a key component to a well-rounded family financial plan. There are a variety of financial vehicles to develop a plan. The type of planned gift that is best for you will depend upon your financial goals. A bequest, for instance, allows you to make a provision in your will for Tower School. A will is an integral part of financial planning, and a charitable bequest reduces or, in some cases, eliminates federal estate taxes owed. Establishing a charitable gift annuity provides dependable income while offering additional tax savings.
